About eight years ago, New York-based director Lívia Cheibub began to explore how sex is portrayed in film, and noticed how female pleasure and sexual freedom are strikingly absent. That is, she has always been intrigued by the film industry representation of sex scenes in a manner that won't overly sexually stimulate the audience. In turn, she has attempted to film real actors and couples having sex, until it became clear that casting amateur porn actors was the best avenue to achieve her vision.
